Ten years ago, blogs(博客) were mostly just online diaries written by teenagers. Today, they are so much more. Blogs have become p 11 enough to influence the media(媒體), or even the governments.
It's said that the number of blogs on the I 12 is between 10 to 32 million. Many of these are p 13 blogs that people use to keep in touch with their friends. But some are public ones on superstars, sports and up-to-date e 14 .
Studies show that 30 percent of Americans have read a blog at l 15 once. Even if people do not read blogs regularly, they might still be a 16 by them in some way.
Now people are s 17 to ask: Will blogging take the place of other types of media? The answer is "NO". Most bloggers do not do firsthand reporting. Unlike reporters, they do not t 18 to the places or meet people they w 19 about. They just get information from other media for their blogs. But blogs might help i 20 the quality of other media. Reporters are more careful when they know bloggers will point out their mistakes.
