作形容詞,意為"害羞的,羞怯的".在句中作表語和定語.

He is new here. He is very shy.

The girl is kind of shy.

When I answer questions, I always feel shy.

作并列連詞,用來連接兩個表示因果關系的句子.前面的分句表示原因,后面so引導的分句表示結果.表示"因為…所以…".在英語中because 和so不能同時存在.

My father can help you with your English because he is an English teacher.

表示"請",多用于祈使句中,表示客氣與禮貌,后接動詞原形.

祈使句是表示命令,請求的句子.省略了主語you, 以動詞原形開頭.其否定形式是在動詞原形前面加Don't.以please開頭的祈使句,其否定形式為 Please don't 動詞原形.

作動詞,意為"睡,睡覺".也可作名詞,意為"睡覺,睡眠".構成以下詞組:

asleep是形容詞,意為"熟睡的".多用在系動詞后作表語.

sleepy 是形容詞,意為"有睡意的,困倦的".

My father is asleep now.

I'm sleepy when I listen to him.

go to bed和sleep

(1)go to bed 指"上床睡覺",強調從脫衣服到上床這一動作,表示準備睡覺,不含睡著之意.

(2)sleep指睡著的整個過程,用于現在進行時態中表示"正在睡覺".

I sleep for nine hours every day.

作名詞,意為"樹葉".其復數形式為leaves.在英語中,以f,fe結尾的名詞變復數的時候,通常將f,fe變為v再加es

(1)一般在名詞詞尾加-s

名詞,意為"(男)演員","女演員"為actress

actor是由動詞act or后綴構成的.

(1)在英語構詞中, 動詞 后綴or變為名詞,表示動作的執行者.

(2)在英語構詞中,還有動詞 后綴er變成名詞,也表示動作的執行者.

名詞,意為"教育小編,通訊員",其動詞為report,意為"報道"

此用法為名詞所有格.在英語中,英語名詞可加"'s"來表示所有關系,稱之為該名詞的所有格.

(2)表示時間,距離,集體,城市,國家,自然現象,世界,天體和固定名詞等名詞的所有格.

(3)并列名詞各自的所有格,在每個名詞后加"'s".表示諸多名詞"共有",則在最后一個名詞后加"'s".

(4)名詞所有格所修飾的名詞,如上文提到過,再次出現時,該名詞可以省略.
