1. meanwhile = in the mean time在此期間、在同時
They've arranged to have another meeting in two weeks, and meanwhilethe problem is getting worse and worse!

2. presently 現在、目前
Of 200 boats, only 20 are presentlyoperational.

Three sites are presently under consideration for the new hotel.

presently習慣放于be動詞或助動詞之后。
3. immediately = as soon as 一…就
I'll call you immediatelyI hear anything.
我一有什么消息就給你打電話。
immediately也有馬上的意思，在這里分享的是另一個用法哦!
4. previously 先前地、以前地
She was previouslyemployed as a tour guide.
她以前受聘當導游。
I had posted the card two monthspreviously.
我兩個月以前就把那張卡片寄出去了。
5. in the past 在過去
In the past, this sort of work was all done by hand.
在過去，這種工作完全是人工完成的。
6. subsequently 接著、隨之
In 1982 he was arrested and subsequentlyconvicted on drug trafficking charges.
他在1982年被捕，隨之被定運送毒品之罪。
7. eventually 最終
Although she had been ill for a long time, it still came as a shock when sheeventually died.
雖然她已病了好長時間，但當她最后去世時，我們仍然感到非常震驚。
語法補充：Eventually 和 finally的不同:
用finally 表達列表中的最后一個項目、口述的最后一點或是表達某事「終于達成」(有開心或松一口氣之意味)。
用eventually表示in the end(在最終)，通常是用于長時間、下很多功夫或是遇到很多問題的事件。
8. currently 目前
